The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH), JiVitA Maternal Child Health and Nutrition Research Project, in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Government of Bangladesh and social enterprise company mPower Health, were awarded a prestigious UBS Foundation Optimus Award to develop and test an integrated mobile phone health information system which will: a) facilitate pregnancy surveillance and registration, b) optimize scheduling and delivery of antenatal and postnatal care to pregnant women and newborns, and c) facilitate timely referrals and response in rural Bangladesh.
